Our telecoms networks are open for business

Take a closer look at our offer

Our networks

VINCI Autoroutes operates nearly 4,400 km of motorways in France. This represents the largest highway network franchise in Europe, managed through 5 corporate units: ASF, Cofiroute, Escota, Arcour and ARCOS.

Who are we?

VIAVEÏS - We are a nationwide neutral infrastructure operator

We are a nationwide neutral infrastructure operator

VIAVEÏS is a unit of VINCI Autoroutes, operating a passive broadband infrastructure installed alongside motorway and road networks across France. Our fibre optic networks, masts and technical facilities offer solutions that fit perfectly with the connectivity requirements of telecoms operators, local authorities and businesses.

VIAVEÏS is a wholly-owned unit of VINCI Autoroutes

Our infrastructures

VIAVEÏS - The fibre optic network

The fibre optic network

VINCI Autoroutes has equipped all its motorways with fibre optic cables to meet its own 24/7 operational needs. This network, which extends over more than 4,400 km, is also available to host regional, national and international FO telecoms operators.

Main features of the network:

  • Optical continuity across the whole network (including to Spain and Italy)
  • Interconnection with local or regional loops and with data centres in major cities
  • Optical continuity off-domain in order to link to non-contiguous highways

Through its VIAVEÏS unit, VINCI Autoroutes is driving the development of tomorrow's data highways!

VIAVEÏS - Installed masts

Installed masts

Most of the free-standing lattice masts in service are between 12 and 50 meters high.

  • VIAVEÏS has made some 700 masts available for use by satnav operators and local radio stations
  • VIAVEÏS is building more new masts each year to help mobile phone operators strengthen their 4G and 5G networks
  • VIAVEÏS guarantees all annual preventive maintenance carried out on its existing masts, and supports the migration of masts to fibre on request
VIAVEÏS - Technical facilities

Technical facilities

The technical facilities and/or roadside cabinets that VIAVEÏS has deployed and installed across the network contain one or more relay racks.

On these dedicated or shared sites, VIAVEÏS provides 220 V or 48 V outlets as well as site integration, security and CTM systems in accordance with the requirements of our customers.

On demand, VIAVEÏS will study the development of much larger technical facilities in view of setting up local data centres (100 to 1,000 m²), and can propose the land.

VIAVEÏS - In-tunnel equipment (DAS)

In-tunnel equipment (DAS)

VIAVEÏS has acquired outstanding skills in finding solutions for specific projects requiring INDOOR coverage within tunnels.

These solutions provide for a multi-operator distributed antenna system that allows different operators to connect their individual radio racks.

This optimised multi-frequency system allows transmission on up to 5 frequencies, multi-technology operation (2G, 3G, 4G) and 5G-readiness (native 700 MHz with optional 3.5 GHz).

Our proposal

Fibre Optics

VIAVEÏS is in the business of delivering passive, neutral networks, i.e.:

  • Providing optical links
  • Installing interconnections specific to customer requirements

We coordinate with our partners around the interconnection of different network sections.

Main steps in delivering a link:

  1. Expression of the need
  2. Feasibility study founded in databases
  3. Site inspection, development of the preliminary design, costing of connectivity work
  4. Supervision of work, connections and reception
  5. Delivery and maintenance of the link

Key points

Delivery process

VIAVEÏS proposes:

  • An optimized real property approach to all land belonging to VINCI Autoroutes
  • Installation of equipment on existing VINCI Autoroutes sites

  • Financing models adapted to the needs of customers
  • Study of connections to the nearest power network
  • Connection of sites to the VINCI Autoroutes fibre optic network

VIAVEÏS coordinates with these industry partners to deliver turnkey sites.

The main steps in the delivery of supporting structures are as follows:

  1. Expression of need
  2. Real estate study
  3. Site inspection, site survey report with panoramic views, radio qualification
  4. Preliminary design
  5. Detailed design with development of structural analysis calculations and/or soil analyses
